Mothers Day
ahh a long absence yet again. - how was mothers day for you? Sadly due to disorganisation on the ex's part I missed out on seeing the ten tenors at Sirromet. However I did have a lovely afternoon with the kids instead. To see the excitement in their eyes and how proud they were to have me as a Mum warmed the heart and soul.
Declan spent his pocket money on a cute little snow dome pen holder - well oil dome if that makes sense. Someone suggested to him that it wasn't appropriate and not to buy it, but his big sister stood up for him and said that I would love it, so he had his way.
So - appropriate soaps or chocolates (which I don't really need)? or snow dome chosen with love and thoughtfulness, which do I prefer - snow dome honey all the way!
It reminds me of when I was in grade 3 - we didn't really get pocket money so I begged and begged Mum for some money (not that I told her what it was for but I'll bet she knew) so I could buy her something at the stall at school. So with my few coins the cutest thing I could buy was a little cushion for buffing up shoes with. - Now it did get used more for us to clean our school shoes with than any of mum's shoes. But it's still there with the other shoe cleaning gear and we look at it and smile.
I look at them and wish that I could wrap them up and save them from all the nastiness of life, but I know I can't forever.
So - to share some more of our adventures together, the children and I! Onwards to New Zealand again!
