back to the grindstone

Yes although I crow about the kids going back to school - it also means that my work load increases again. Running between activities and what I call my 'Real' work :-) I always manage to put it on the backburner a bit on holidays so I can spend time with the kids, that always means though that I have a backlog when they go back to school. Of course working from home means that I have to be highly self motivated and after a lazyish few weeks of school holidays when I need to get back to work often things like cleaning and (gasp) even ironing look more appealing than knuckling down at the computer.

Just to make me look forward to the next lot of holidays or weekend away I had to scrap some of my holiday pics though.

Is_this_rivendell This was for the Blue Bazaar portal with a  theme of all that glitters - now if anyone has a needle that will thread through those tiny pearls please tell me - I tried all 50 needles that we have here and none would fit! arghhhhhhh! The kids found this tree at the Bunya's - it reminded me somewhat of Lord of the Rings - hence the title.

I've recently set my screen saver - to slideshow my pictures and I'm loving how inspiring it is - although it also makes me want to print all the photos off in large scale similar to this one - doesn't leave much room for embellishments or journaling does it?

OK enough procrastinating - I NEED to do some work!

ahhh the end of school holidays

yes tomorrow they all go back to school. nice to have some peace and quiet during the day again, but to tell the truth we've had a lovely lazy holiday, time down at the farm for Sian, a few days at the Bunya mountains last week complete with a roaring log fire and lovely late sleep in's, walks in the rainforest and late night scrapping for me after the kids went to bed, sigh wish I could do that all the time!

The down side of going back to school of course is all the hustle and bustle that it brings - after school reading classes for Declan, speech therapy starts this term again for him as well and Sian has girl guides again - tomorrow morning of course will be back to normal but I'm sure I'll sound like a cracked record for a day or 2 saying "eat your breakfast", "clean your teeth", "pack your pack" and "are you dressed yet?" LOL does that sound familiar?

I spent a lot of my scrapping time at the bunyas completing projects that had never really been finished off. Or never started :-)

This one is a little gift purse made from scratch - it's a club stamp project only 6 months old so I finished this one off quickly compared to some of weeks work!Purse Journey_cover

this one is an handbound book that I started about 2 years ago, I'm using it to collect paraphernalia from all our weekends away and take notes, adding a photo here or there.

as peter Cundall would say - that's your lot for the week - oh well maybe for a few days anyway!

04 July 2007

oooh lookie here!

heavens above back within a few days LOL - I suppose work is a little slow at the moment with end of financial year, so I have a little bit of time up my sleeve!

Declan and I both have a cold - may I add the this time Declan had to share! I think I'll curl up on the couch very soon and watch a DVD.

Sian is so grown up, she has left this morning on her first bus trip to warwick to see Grandma and Grandpa, she was all confident for the last few weeks about it, but got a little nervous as she boarded and I spied a little tear as the bus pulled away. Still she will be as proud as punch when she arrives and has done it all on her own - I'll go down to warwick on Saturday to pick her up.

Here's a few more projects from the last few weeks - you should see a few travel photos from me in the near future - steve and I went on a road trip - drove from Sydney to Adelaide along the coast, taking a small detour thorugh the snow country seeing as there was quite a bt of snow before the opening of ski season. Saw some amazing places and made a list of where we wanted to return to - I know why those Vincentia ladies are so creative now too - it's a gorgeous part of the world!

I must say we were very lucky as we had perfect weather for the whole 12 days and seeing the damage caused in the newcastle area and more recently in Bairnsdale we were lucky we didn't go a few weeks later -I hope all the ladies in thsoe areas are high and dry and haven't suffered too much damage, hugs too all those in that area that are in trouble.

Cover All_these_things_small_copy_2 another mini book - this time for June

This is me dabbling in digital scrapping - I needed to create one for Blue Bazaar with the theme of a font background - I was on the road on holidays at the time so had fun doing a digi LO!
