Simply the best

My addiction

18 May 2008

resuming normal transmission

here we go again - I had a mammoth effort last night and completed the New Zealand album - so now onto yet another holiday that I haven't completed scrapping (:-)

so choose a colour scheme and LO - pick an album and I'll be away again! although I do have a few other projects to work on now that I have been so busy with these few travel albums!

Of course there is the other childrens projects I need to help with this afternoon! - Declan needs to make a hat from recycled materials - planning on using an old jumper of his for this - it does involve some sewing so I think I might be the master of that part!

It's one of those nice cruisy weekends at home, the silverside is smelling delish - cooking away in the crock pot, a cake is in the oven and the car has at last been washed - possibly something to do with the kids having written "wash me" all over it in the last few weeks - VERY FUNNY - NOT!. Possibly partly to do with the overwhelming amount of water we got last night that I need to get rid of as well - nice to see so much pour down, just hope it went into the dams too, although I did notice it pouring out to sea late last night still - what a waste!

so here are a few more pages form NZ - but don't despair there are still heaps more here that I need to share!

A break from usual transmission

yes a break from the travel albums LOL

recently I was invited, along with lots of other talented australian and new zealand girls to participate in a Fiskars project, which was loads of fun if a bit challenging at times (:-)  I'll share a coupe here tonite and some more later in the week. I'm sure all the other ladies will share too - some AWESOME work was done.

A big thankyou to Fiskars for asking me to take part!

Mothers Day

ahh a long absence yet again. - how was mothers day for you? Sadly due to disorganisation on the ex's part I missed out on seeing the ten tenors at Sirromet. However I did have a lovely afternoon with the kids instead. To see the excitement in their eyes and how proud they were to have me as a Mum warmed the heart and soul.

Declan spent his pocket money on a cute little snow dome pen holder - well oil dome if that makes sense. Someone suggested to him that it wasn't appropriate and not to buy it, but his big sister stood up for him and said that I would love it, so he had his way.

So - appropriate soaps or chocolates (which I don't really need)? or snow dome chosen with love and thoughtfulness, which do I prefer - snow dome honey all the way!

It reminds me of when I was in grade 3 - we didn't really get pocket money so I begged and begged Mum for some money (not that I told her what it was for but I'll bet she knew) so I could buy her something at the stall at school. So with my few coins the cutest thing I could buy was a little cushion for buffing up shoes with. - Now it did get used more for us to clean our school shoes with than any of mum's shoes. But it's still there with the other shoe cleaning gear and we look at it and smile.

I look at them and wish that I could wrap them up and save them from all the nastiness of life, but I know I can't forever.

So - to share some more of our adventures together, the children and I! Onwards to New Zealand again!New_zealand_4 New_zealand_5 New_zealand_6 New_zealand_7

NEW ZEALAND!

So! onto the next travel album! the kids will love this one - photos from our trip to New Zealand last year.

It seems so long ago now, Declan with his broken arm and gappy teeth LOL - perfect photography subject.

It's an almost wintery ANZAC day here today - blowing a gale which is quite cold hmmmm that reminds me - this sort of weather almost always means that it is snowing down south - I hope so that would make a wonderful start to the ski season! Although it is still way too early probably.

I spent a lazy morning preparing to scrap more photos from NZ and sat out on the grass with my laptop, seeing as Declan is at his dad's for the weekend it is my job to look after baby bluetongue. He doesn't really have a name yet - baby bluey, lizzie then Callum (which was confusing seeing as Declan's best mate is Callum) Then he was Bob for a while (to which we all sang - Bob the Bluetongue, can he eat it, Bob the Bluetongue can he eat it YES HE CAN!) right now it's Ben though - we'll see if this one sticks. So he and I sat on teh grass sunbaking and then he ate a lot of porridge! (they eat anything honestly!) A few F111's flew over to mark the day, then it was time to scrap!

So here are a few LO's from teh album - a very simple but stylish setout again so teh photos are the predominant feature and of course simple enough to mean I can scrap them very quickly!

I Hope you're all having a great long weekend as well.

the very last

Well seeing as I finally made a start on the NZ album today I thought it was high time I shared the last of the swiss pics with you all.

time is flying, one lot of school holidays are already past for the year, Sian sits her scholarship exams very soon and next week Declan heads off on his very first school camp! They will be sleeping under the water at Underwater World for the night! how cool! bet there isn't much sleeping going on though LOL!

So maybe tomorrow you'll see some of the NZ pics if I get myself organised!

I have to add that I truly love the photos I have here from Ruth and Jacobs farm - these ornaments hanging are hundreds of years old used in gathering the hay!

I've been forgetful again!

Well not really forgetful - can we squeeze another few hours in a day please??? very busy around here, so much going on at the school for the end of term and so much to organise!

My gorgeous boy truend 8 on Monday - he's almost grown up! lucky for me he still tells me every morning that he loves me! Mind you I think that hs affections lie elsewhere right now! Most of you would know about Declan's affinity with any wildlife, well finally he's convinced me to get a recreational wildlife license so he can keep certain pets - ie blue tongues, dragons and SNAKES!!!! I convinced him to start small and easy so we are now the proud owners of a baby bluetongue - he is soooooo cute! I'll take some photos of him over the weekend - but this afternoon he was sitting on Declan's shoulder watching TV and then sat on the bench besdie him while we did homework!

OK - nearing the end of the trip but still about 6 pages to share so here goes!

it's done!

Yes I finally finished my Swiss album - I still have a few to share over the next few days, but I have in fact done every last photo that I wanted to use - now onto the next one! I think the kids would like me to tackle New Zealand, seeing as they share those memories. While they browsed through this album - you could see that the memories weren't theirs and so the excitement just wasn't quite there - next time they will be there with us, all our friend so want to show the kids the farms and castles and all their history.

Have a great easter everyone - hope you don't get taken over by the chocholate!

Almost there

It's almost sad - I have come near to the end of my Swiss photos - but that's OK I only have about 5 more holidays to scrap, that I've never really done as I was so overwhelmed by the number of photos! Now that I'm on a roll with this simpler style for holiday pics I think I might just get stuck into another holiday LOL.

So a few more LO's from Switzerland today, I'm quite proud of the panorama as I took the photos deliberatley so I could stitch them together and It's not such a  bad job either! IT was taken from Bernina pass or (sewing machine pass as I began calling it!)

And these are only just a few photos of the "cows with bells" The swiss think I'm absolutely mad, but it's just so cute, and you can hear the tinkling of bells all over the countryside, it's quite melodic and not irritating at all - although as a visitor I might have slightly rose coloured glasses!

Next!

Hi

how cool a short week again! love that oooh and then next week another one! yehaa!

Tomorrow I'll be off to the school again - it's bunny brunch time! The kids put on a  short play and sing songs, then we all have a yummy bunny brunch together. - I have to admit that I haven't stayed for the past few years - work gets in the way and after you've been to several of these you do tend to lose the excitement edge that was there the first time with your first child, or even the first time with your second child!

But this year (and this is almost perverse!) I can't wait to go and I'm getting all misty eyed! WHY?? well it's my last one - This is for the junior school only and after grade 3 there is NO BUNNY BRUNCH! Where did my baby go?, Why didn't I make myself go the last few years? yes I am constantly berating myself now - I'm sure it will pass and I'll forgive myself.
